Answers to your Questions

Why should I hire a postpartum doula? Cant my family and partner just help?

In ideal world, everyone would have a village ready to support them after having a baby. However this is not many people's reality. Either there is no village or the village they have is not equipped to really provide what is needed. A postpartum doula is a trained professional, in caring for both mom and baby postpartum. There is growing evidence that postpartum doula support can actually reduce risks of postpartum depression.

What if I can't afford support?

There are many ways to pay for postpartum support. You can add my services to your registry on BE HER village or suggest family members buy you a gift card directly.

I offer many sizes of packages to customize the support to your needs and budget. I am also open to bartering services if you would like to discuss that, schedule a discovery call.

Why should I hire a postpartum doula instead of a nanny or housekeeper?

As a postpartum doula my number one priority is always the mother. When the mother is taken care of the the baby is taken care of. Sometimes taking care of the mother can include housekeeping or caring for baby and older siblings, however neither a housekeeper or nanny has the mother's well being in their job description.
